Cute idea from j-a-girl.blogspot.com

Teacher Gifts!

Go out and find the cheapest bottle of hand sanitizer, lotion, or bottled soap that you can find. I was at Target, and I'm pretty sure I could have found something cheaper. I wasn't in the mood to go somewhere else. Hence, the $1.79 hand sanitizer. I like this idea because germs are everywhere when you're a teacher. I keep a keg of this stuff on my desk. Yes, a keg.

The hardest part of this whole elaborate project is getting the stickers off the bottle. When you purchase it, make sure there's nothing printed ONTO the bottle. Everything must be removable. Most are, but just check. The bottle on the right is the "cleaned" product. I simply peel it off. Whatever doesn't come off clean gets some Goo-off or Goo-B-Gone on it. Just wipe the oil off with some Windex or something before you move on.
Now for the easy part. Decorate it. I have tried rub-ons, stickers, small tags, and ribbons. You choose!

The one on the right (below) is the first one I did, and I used soap. I have since come to like the sanitizer option better (plus I like that it's a clear bottle), but you can do whatever you like.
So there you have it. A tutorial AND a teacher's gift idea. Maybe you're lucky, and you live in a district where parents don't care about teachers. ;-) If, however, you live in my district, you'll either present that teacher with a V-day gift or be black-listed by all the hot moms in mini-vans! Choose wisely!

Cute DIY Valentines Idea

I was browsing for cute Valentine ideas and I came across a tutorial for this super cute wreath. I would add some pink and maybe make the squares bigger to make it appear fuller.
I think it is a fun craft to do with your kids!

Cute Christmas party!

This is so cute from
I just love the "snow balls"!!!

Ribbon Christmas card holder

I made this card holder a few years ago, but I would like to share this simple
craft project with you.
I painted the outside of the board first
I hot glued strips of fabric in different widths 2 inch and 3 inch
I covered and old cheap memory board
glued on a trim to the outer edges and added a ribbon detail to the wood frame.
Easy and cheap and really cute hanging in my kitchen.
I'm sure you would want to add more detail this is just a super easy fast version of an idea.

DIY Christmas ideas

I'm late posting ideas, but you can store them in your file of ideas for next year!!! I made these presents several years ago. My best friend and one of the most creative people I know came up with this and we got together and had a craft night. Since then I have had so much interest in these and have made these for several people. Get together with your friends and have a night of crafts! So much fun!

Use a Styrofoam wreath and wrap with a boa using floral pins. Add a glitter ornament to the center. Fun and Festive and most of all EASY!!!

A rare picture with Mommy!

Me and my baby girl! Words can't express!

Great Idea I found at

Thrifty Decor Chick: Ho! Ho! Ho! (A Santa craft.)

close

I worked on a craft project today that turned out sooooo caute, I could not resist going ahead with a post tonight. It was snowing all day (not like some of you are getting!), so it was a great day to sit down and craft while the Bub was napping and Hubs was watching a game. Snow makes me feel all Christmasy-like. ;)

I saw some cute Santa hat/suit decor things in Stein Mart a couple months ago and Tweetedabout them, saying I could totally make them for cheaper. Well, I decided to go for it, yes. I. did. I started with three foam cones, in different sizes:

009

I got them all for about $10. I think I used a coupon on the largest. If you can catch them on sale, you could spend even less!

I found red velvet at Hob Lob for less than $5 – I only got 22 inches (the width is 54”) and didn’t even use all of that. I figured out the size by rolling the cones and then cutting the fabric:

I hot glued the fabric down the back and then on the bottom and top to secure the ends:

012

I almost used sparkly red felt, but went with the velvet to the get look I really wanted. Either would be adorable and the felt would be even cheaper!

Then, I got four inches of vinyl (that looks like leather) to make the “belt.” This was less than $2 and I didn’t even need four inches…I only ended up making it 2.5 inches wide:

018

Again, just with some hot glue, I wrapped it around and secured it. Then, the fun part – the fur. I got some fluffy stuff in the ribbon section at Joann’s to use for this:

Isn’t it adorable? It looks like Santa’s beard! I’m dying.

For the buckle, I found a package of little square crystals. This package had 52 and I used most of them. I figured out the size and shape I wanted before I hot glued them on:

A fluffy puff ball on top, and it was done. And I squealed! I did!:

I don’t think I could love these more than I do. Seriously, I’m dying.030

My three cost about $25 total. (And I had fun making them!)

Adorable!

I’m dying.

Our Christmas Card

Wow, what a day! I just wanted to pretend we were that perfect family, with the perfect little Christmas card. I decided to give up after 30 minutes of her screaming NO NO! I'm really not sure what was wrong with my sweet child that day.

CIRCUS PARTY

The invitations! I used the papers from the dimpleprints digital kit I bought off of Etsy. Jennifer Shirley Photography took the pictures and did the invitations.
She worked with me on my vision and made them exactly how I wanted! I love them.

Welcome to Emmy's Circus Party!
Crepe Paper is a very inexpensive way to decorate!

I decided the easiest way to do the cake was to go to my local Brookshires Grocery store and pick up a double layer round cake already mad with cream cheese frosting. Then I added the rest. I made the bow with layers and layers of left over ribbon and bought the Birthday sign at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook section along with the E also! Easy and turned out cute for around $25

Snow cone cupcakes... How cute are these! Everyone loved them! I got the idea http://karascupcakes.blogspot.com/ I used sugar sprinkles but I suggest using the large ice crystals to look more like ice snowcones, but I think they turned out cute and they tasted good too. If you have to buy store bought icing for convenience, you should buy the "Whipped" icing. It is so smooth and is so GOOD! I had to make the box to hold these things, they still don't stand up too straight! Vender cupcake holder are too expensive!
Popcorn cupcakes! Wew! Thanks to my MIL for helping me apply 360 marsh mellows! I made the cupcake wraps out of paper from Michaels (the only place I could find red and white striped paper) and made these labels to stick on the front!

Prizes I picked up along the way at the dollar stores and Michaels!
Picture corner!
Bullseye, Pin the tale on the Donkey game and Games sign is from Hobby Lobby and the Water balloon toss game from Michaels. Use your 40% off coupons at both places to cut down on cost!!! I was up late the night before filling up the water balloons but it was all worth it! I used PVC pipe, stuck in the ground with rebar. The red/white pendants are from Oriental Trading!
Table set up...didn't last too long because of wind. Ran out of time to decorate the chairs but they need some tulle or to be covered completely!
Little kids table with Emmy's personalized placemat!
I made all the signs with fun fonts I have collected from http://kevinandamanda.com/
Face painting sign from Hobby Lobby

Candy buffet tables with creative fun labels I made for each. Of course the kids loved this table!!!
Paper bags from Hobby Lobby, I punched holes and added ribbon for handles, Also, added the tags to the front that say "Thank you for making my party sweet"
Lots of fun festive food! Peanuts, Animal Crackers, Cracker Jacks, Cotton Candy, Chips, Pretzels, Popcorn, Hotdogs!!!

I made this sign that said
"Grab a bag take some treats...Enjoy some sugar because you are sweet!
I found these Carosel candy from Dollar Tree for 25 cents each. WOW! So cute!
Signs from Hobby Lobby. I rented the popcorn machine and bought the Hot dog machine from Walmart.com. It made the most perfect Hot dogs!
I bought him from a local party store Paper Shack.

JUMP!

I bought these CIRCUS letters from Hobby lobby and covered them with paper. I hot glued wood dowels to the back and stuck them in the hay bail.

Dig for Prizes!!

Finally, my wonderful little face painter painted her own face! So cute!

THE END!
All the photography was done by me also, so it's not the best quality. This party was held the weekend after Thanksgiving so my friend and photographer was out of town. Anybody that books a party with me, I will have a photographer available for Birthday photos, custom invitaions, and event photos. I will list more information on this soon!
