Raggedy Ann Party!
I have seen lots of pictures from this party, but when I really looked at the girl and stopped obsessing over the party, I fell in love. She reminds me of my favorite red-headed sister. This child is amazing and makes this party not just appeal to my creative side, but pulls at my heart strings too. Go to One Charming Party to see lots more posts on this Raggedy Ann party! Lots of ideas and information on how to pull off such an Awesome, beautiful party!

I’ve posted a bunch of great pictures over the past two weeks of this Raggedy Ann party. If you missed them, click on the Raggedy Ann tag at the bottom of this post or the Raggedy Ann category in the right hand list. And I’d like to thank Nicole Hill Gerulat for taking these awesome pictures.

How I made these sandwiches:
1. I cut a piece of thick paper into a square, the size that I wanted the sandwiches to be.
2. I cut each piece of bread to the size of the cardboard, removing the crusts.
3. I spread jam between two pieces of bread and made the sandwiches.
4. I measured the size of the bread/cardboard and cut scrapbooking paper to about 3/4 the size of the bread and long enough to wrap around the sandwich.
5. I folded the paper where it bent around the sandwich to make a crease, then I taped the paper together.
Have I confused you yet?

I found the cups in this picture at my local thrift store (for a deal). I cut regular length red-striped straws in half to fit in the cups. I put heart shaped ice cubes in the juice as well, but they melted too quickly to get a good picture of them.
Graduation Party Inspiration
Custom Inspiration Board - by Celebrations at Home
Susan's daughter is about to graduate high school and will be heading to LSU in the Fall. She wants a graduation party using purple & green, with spots of yellow, to reflect the college colors. She also needed direction for food with a Louisiana flair.
Create an outdoor party atmosphere with balloons & hanging lanterns from trees, garden hooks, and at the entrance. Cover the tables with purple and/or green linens, and top with the alternate colored runner. For centerpieces, stack a few school books(from thrift stores) and then add extras like graduation cap, rolled paper (diploma), framed picture of the guest of honor at different ages, and flowers in julep cups. Make each table a little different. You could also use books you already have and cover them with colored paper in your color scheme.
Bring the yellow in with flowers in silver-tone julep cups. Put them on the dining tables, food buffet tables, and any other areas you need color. Also add a penant to some floral arrangements by simply cutting triangles from felt fabric and hot glue to dowels...all readily available from the craft store.
Roll napkins to look like diplomas and tie with yellow ribbon or a tassle from the fabric store.
Hang a custom graduation banner from Etsy. The one shown is made with old high school pictures from the 60's.
For the dessert table, make a statement with flowers from the South, such as purple hydrangeas, wisteria, or verbena. Use a combination of purple, green, and yellow candies, and provide clear bags to fill, with custom stickers.
Food is Southern with a Louisiana twist. Jambalaya, fried chicken, shrimp po boys, sweet potato fries served in paper cones, and Louisiana-style potato salad.
Label each food item using these fleur de lis holders. You can even spray paint them yellow for added color.
Serve lemonade and sweet tea.
Set up an area where friends and family can write well-wishes, words of advice, or other sentiments for the guest of honor. They can be rolled into "diplomas", tied with ribbon, and dropped into a basket to be read later.
I love the idea of the large chalk board on wheels for photo opportunities!

Popcorn cupcakes and snow cone cupcakes
Someone rented my Circus party stuff and wanted me to re-make the Popcorn cupcakes, snow cone cupcakes and my little go to cake... that I love. So here they are again! If you want to check out my last attempt and my great big birthday Circus Bash I gave my daughter (if you missed it) Go HERE to my previous post..
My advice on the birthday cake: First, so I don't offend any wonderful bakers and cake decorators out there... let me just say I love your beautiful cakes, but unless you have a huge budget for your party, you should just keep the cake simple. Go to your local baker and have a 2 layer cake made like this and add your embellishments and people will think it is just as great. Do NOT spent 40-50% of you party budget on your cake. Spend your money in other areas! Ok, that is my advice for FREE!
New custom Invitations
