Easter/Spring Easy DIY burlap wreath

This was an easy project I did this morning. It took me about 20 minutes to do. I am using burlap and neutrals throughout my house so I wanted something the same look and still springy at the same time. Good thing about this wreath is I can take the butterfly off and add something summery or a vintage Welcome sign and use it again and again!

{ All my supplies came from Hobby Lobby}
2 yards of burlap (2.99 yd)
12x2 inch styrofoam wreath
Embellishment (butterfly $1.99)
Hot glue gun
1 1/2 yard of Ribbon
Total cost: $12
Excuse my hot glue gun. I've had it for over 13 years. It's in rough shape!

Cut the burlap in 3x3 to 4x4 inch squares
(It doesn't really matter if they aren't all the same size)
Put the pencil in the middle of the square, then add a little hot glue around the tip
Stick it in top, outside and inside
Fill in where needed

There are many versions of burlap wreaths out there! Below are a few that feature tutorials all using different techniques. Check these out!

  4. Oh my! I love this and burlap is my fav. Thanks for sharing.

  5. I have a bunch of burlap and didn't know what to do with it! Now i do.
    Thanks for sharng.

  6. Soo cute!! Love the glue gun. Mine looks even worse!!

  7. I have a do we attach the ribbon to hang the wreath? Thanks!

  8. I used hot glue and it held. I have it tied on to my door knocker. The hot glue will hold it if you let it dry or you could use a floral pin with hot glue. If you need it to hang to a door wreath just tie the bow larger. So glad you are making one! I would love to see a picture of the finished product!

Thank you so much for leaving a comment. I really love to read them all and will respond to any questions as soon as I can. To order, please email,
