A Rainbow Art Party!

It's here! A Painting Party, Art Party, Rainbow pARTy! I kinda had several names for this party. My daughter Emmy's 5th Birthday Party, is in the running for my favorite one so far. I don't know, I really love each year before, so it's hard to say. 4th,  3rd,  2nd,  1st

Red, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Violet (*Pink* which should definitely be a added in the colors of the Rainbow!)

I always put the main table against the fence which every year is hard to photograph because it's in the sun the longest. I'll never learn and my pictures of the main tables never come out very good. Full of shadows!

This canvas was painted by her uncle Sean! He came to visit from Canada a few months before the party and we were talking about her theme. He is an artist so I wanted him to create something I could display at the party. He used paint pens and paints to create this little artist painting of my baby girl! It's hard to see the details in the pictures but it had some dimension to it. I loved that he left a lot of white, it's what inspired the whole look- Lots of white with bright pops of color! This is hanging in her room now, it's so special to her!

Cake inspiration I found on Pinterest and had my local cake girl Taylor Made Cakes make me what I wanted. Cookies made local by Stacey Crawford

I spray painted platters and glass candle sticks from Dollar Tree. I found the idea HERE.

My friend made these rainbow pudding cups for the party. Nice to have sweet friends like that!

I bought $1 sodas from Dollar Tree for the Rainbow of drinks table. (this is also where the Pizza was served) They had all the colors except blue. So I bought an extra bottle of yellow, emptied it out added blue kool aid to it. I'm sure there is a much easier, less wasteful way, but it was only a dollar and I didn't want to over think it. :) I'm sure most people wouldn't care if their bottles matched. All labels I created.

PAINT A CANVAS!!

I think it would be easier to paint a rainbow (I never thought of that, seriously) but she wanted to paint a dog. Totally not part of the theme and even though I drew the shape out on each canvas, it was a little hard for the 4-6 year olds. I think they all turned out cute though.

I made each of the kids aprons with iron on labels I created. They turned out great! So easy to iron on and I just added little flower embellishments to the girls aprons. Colored child's aprons purchased from Oriental trading, Emmy's White apron from Hobby Lobby.  I added a few more details to Emmy's, ruffles, ribbon and made her name label a little different then the others.

For the littles, I taped off their initial and let them create with washable paints. They loved it!

I  love this back drop we created together, she got to throw paints all over it! Splatter paint, wasn't that big in the 80's! So fun. Just don't use washable paints on a plastic table cloth. It will peal right off.

FACE PAINT!

This girl was great! They all loved getting their faces painted. It was interesting what they chose. I wanted Emmy to get a matching rainbow butterfly, but by the time I turned around she had ordered a peacock and looked as cute as humanely possible. All the kids looked great! Faces Alive

Take a big breath and make a wish sweet girl!

Some fun pictures from the day.

Her sweet boyfriend brought her flowers.

Me & Em.......................................................................................................................

A perfect end to a perfect day in the eyes of a birthday girl! This is such a fun theme. So much you can do with it. Rent out a fun studio space in your town, that would make less paint brushes you would have to buy :)

Keep up with me on Facebook

Go see my previous Sneak Peak post that has the invitation and my Instagram pics leading up to the party.

Next up... I made a full printable kit for this theme. I added a lot of things you don't see pictured here like cupcake toppers and a cute birthday banner. I'll be back soon with all the details.

Let me know what you think and if you have any questions. I'll be sure to answer them in the comment section and update this post with anything I missed.
